THE cost of controversial cycle safety signs left on vehicles in Bournemouth has been revealed.
A Bournemouth council spokesman said £829 has been spent on the 4,491 bright yellow Look Out signs being hung on wing mirrors in council car parks.
Ashley Miller, chairman of the Bournemouth Station Taxi Association dubbed the flyers “a total waste of money”.
Some leaflets were found dropped on the ground after the latest distribution in the Richmond Hill car park.
Ian Kalra, the council’s head of transportation services, said they were part of the Getting About campaign to encourage more people to cycle A council spokesman said the funds came from the government’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund.
