MEMBERS of the public are being asked to come forward with vital information as the hunt for the killer of Christopher Colegate continues.

Police have again renewed their appeal for information which will lead them to the driver of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run death of Mr Colegate on Friday, December 13.

Rewards totalling £2,000 have been offered and investigating officers are determined to speak to the drivers of the two vehicles seen in the area at the time of the collision.

A medium-sized, light-coloured family car and a Honda Civic-type vehicle were seen near the scene where Mr Colegate, pictured right, was found seriously injured at the junction of Darby’s Lane and Heath Avenue at 7.25pm.

Family members have urged the driver to come forward and friend Bob Barnes said those with information should “do the right thing” and come forward.

Disabled Mr Colegate, 69, was on his way to Oakdale Consevative Club when he suffered fatal injuries.

Those with information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 13:478 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111. Mobile phone tariffs may apply.
