A £1,000 ELECTRONIC marine plotter has been stolen by thieves in a co-ordinated distraction burglary on Poole’s Quay.

The Raymarine chart plotter was taken from Pipers of Poole at Yeatmans Old Mill, near the lifting bridge, between 10am and 10.30am on Sunday, July 20. Two women entered the shop, followed by a man – apparently independent of each other.

They asked questions, the man paid for a map with cash, and one woman asked for a catalogue from the back. The theft occurred when staff were distracted.

After leaving around the same time all three are thought to have sped off towards the lifting bridge in a light coloured car. Both women were white, slim, with blonde hair, unnatural-looking tans wearing pattered summer dresses. One was around five feet seven inches, in her late 30s, the other was around five feet three inches with a small tattoo between her shoulder blades.

The man was white, in his 50s and of slim build. He wore a black polo shirt with a white crest on the left side, black shorts and white trainers, and carried a cork sphere with a red lanyard, described as a key ring for boats.

PC Luke Davis, of Poole police, said: “The stolen item was a high value product and this crime appears to be an organised theft by three people working together.”
