ONE of Bournemouth's most popular clubs will close for a refurbishment this weekend.
Lola Lo on Richmond Hill will close after a farewell party on Saturday night, reopening on August Bank Holiday for a big comeback party.
And gone will be the tiki theme, with a new sophisticated Japanese design in its place.
Anton Kasanin, manager of Lola Lo Bournemouth said the time had come for a change.
Run by company Eclectic Clubs and Bars, the bar will be a more intimate setting for after work relaxing drinks into a high temp club culture, Anton said.
“We do have quite a loyal following who are sad to see it go which is nice.
“We opened as Kukui four years ago so it's definitely time for a change.”
Clubbers have taken to Twitter to express their dismay at the temporary closure.
A message on the club's website says: “After a fantastic stay in Bournemouth it's time for Lola to say its goodbyes! Join us in our final Saturday night to bid farewell after an amazing 3 years of non-stop fun!
“Head down from 9pm to make the most of half price cocktails until midnight and give your rum club the send off it deserves!”
