A 17-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with selling cocaine and heroin.

The youth was arrested as part of a huge operation carried out by Dorset Police, which has seen raids carried out at tens of properties across the Bournemouth area.

The initiative aims to clamp down on drug dealing and prosecute those responsible.

There have been 34 arrests in relation to the campaign, as reported in yesterday’s Daily Echo.

Among those is a 17-year-old from Bournemouth, who has been charged with two counts of supplying cocaine and two of supplying heroin.

The teenager – who cannot be named – is one of 12 to appear at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

A second youth – 18-year-old Nathan Panter-Pironi, of Christchurch Road, Boscombe – has also been charged under the same initiative with five counts of supplying cocaine, three of supplying heroin and two of being concerned in the supply of heroin.

A further six of those accused of selling class A drugs are from the Bournemouth area, while two have Christchurch addresses and another is of no fixed abode.

A 29-year-old woman of no fixed abode has been released without charge.

The raids are part of Operation Moped, one of the biggest initiatives of its kind in the county.

It has seen officers targeting addresses in the town on a number of days this week.

All of those who appeared at the court on Wednesday were accused of selling drugs to law enforcement officers.

However, further arrests have been made in connection to different offences, with a 15-year-old boy taken into custody on suspicion of entering the UK without leave.

A man was also held after allegedly breaching an anti-social behaviour order.

n A 17-year-old Bournemouth girl has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply it, police confirmed last night.

She is one of five further arrests made yesterday.

The others, all men, were arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs.
