AN inquest into the death of a popular village postman from Wool has been opened.
Bournemouth Coroner’s Court heard that Robert Christopher Cook, of Chalk Pit Lane in Wool, died following a collision outside the Red Lion Hotel at Winfrith on Wednesday, July 9.
A post mortem examination has been carried out and the cause of death is unascertained at present, pending toxicology results.
The coroner will carry out further investigations and a full inquest will take place at a later date.
Police were called to the A352 at Winfrith last week after the collision between the red Kawasaki Z550 motorbike, ridden by Mr Cook, and a car.
Friends have paid tribute to the ‘happy’ and ‘cheerful’ family man who was a big presence in the community.
