AN inquest into the death of tragic teenager Amy Latham has revealed that she was found hanging.

The 18-year-old was discovered in Catley Copse, near her Wimborne home, just before 3pm on Tuesday July 1 by police who had been carrying out an extensive search for her.

The former QE A-level student had been reported missing the previous day and police had expressed “grave concern” for her welfare.

Dorset Coroner Sheriff Payne opened an inquest into her death in Bournemouth this morning.

He was told that the body of Chichester-born Amy, who lived in Walford Gardens, was formally identified by her mother, Susan Latham, on Wednesday July 2.

A post mortem examination, carried out by pathologist Dr Simon Rasbridge, revealed the cause of her death to be hanging.

The inquest was adjourned for further inquiries and will resume at a date to be fixed.
