BOURNEMOUTH police are appealing for information after a young woman allegedly had her bag snatched as she waited to cross the road in Winton.

The victim reportedly had her bag stolen at the junction of Talbot Road and Wimborne Road at around 12pm on Wednesday February 26.

The alleged offender then ran into the alleyway behind Natwest Bank where he was chased by the victim’s boyfriend and a member of the public. He is described as white, in his late teens or early twenties and of slim build. He was wearing a grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Detective constable Neil Third, of Bournemouth CID, said: “In particular, I am interested in talking to the two male occupants of a silver Ford Mondeo which was waiting at the traffic lights at the time of the incident.

“I would also like to talk to the woman who spoke to the victim at the traffic lights immediately after the incident occurred.”

A 26-year-old woman from Bournemouth and a 39-year-old man from Bournemouth have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal.
