A BOURNEMOUTH charity looking for an alternative to quizzes and sponsored runs has launched a contest to find the next big fundraising idea.
BCHA is appealing for residents to suggest creative and crazy ways of raising money to ensure they can continue helping the homeless and abuse victims.
The person who comes up with the best idea will win a package of prizes worth more than £2,700, including a weekend away at the Norfolk Royale Hotel, dinner for two at the Escoffier Restaurant and a Canon PowerShot digital camera.
Lorna Trent, fundraising manager at BCHA, said: “We have all been to countless charity quizzes or taken part in a fun run, some of us have even propelled ourselves out of an aeroplane, all to raise money for charity.
“This initiative is all about finding the next big fundraising idea – something that hasn’t been done before.
“Our team are hoping to hear some really creative and zany ideas from the residents of Dorset.
“People go to work every day and come up with extraordinary, creative solutions to problems they may have and that’s what we’d like to see achieved here.
“Give us your best, brightest ideas and in return, stand a chance of winning over £2,700 worth of prizes.
“Besides, what could be better than knowing that your idea has helped people off the streets and back into work too?”
Residents have until March 30 to send their best idea to firstname.lastname@example.org, letting the charity know if you want to be involved in making the idea a reality.
