PROFESSIONAL photographers get their chance to shine in the third category of the popular Poole Harbour com-petition.

The Poole Harbour Commissioners and Daily Echo photographic competition sets them the challenge of composing winter photos of Poole Harbour.

For the chance to win £250 worth of Castle Cameras vouchers, PHC and the Echo are encouraging professional snappers to send in their favourite photos.

They can be old or new, black and white or colour, spectacular action shots or images of a snowy harbour landscape.

“The harbour must be one of the most photographed beauty spots in Dorset and we know professional photographers will have a different perspective of it,” said Jim Stewart, chief executive of Poole Harbour Commissioners.

This is the third of four categories of the competition, which has already welcomed entries of winter water activities and wildlife.

Each runs for two weeks and the overall competition takes place over two months.

It has been incorporated into the Have Your Say section of the Echo since the start of the year, with many of the fabulous entries being featured.

The competition ends in March with the final category open to under 21s.

To enter, email your picture to photocomp2014@bournemouthecho.co.uk and include the words PHC Competition3 in the subject line.

Entrants must include their name, address, telephone number, email address and a brief description of the location or event and time of year.

Professional photographers have until February 22 to submit their entries and be in with a chance of snapping up the prize.
