POLICE are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following a serious injury collision on Longfleet Road in Poole last week.

An 84-year-old woman from Poole was walking along the junction close to the traffic lights by the Shah of Persia pub at around 11.50am on Thursday, January 16, when she was involved in a collision with a Citroen C3.

The vehicle was turning right from Longfleet Road into Fernside Road at the time of the incident, which resulted in the pedestrian suffering serious leg and arm injuries, which were treated at Poole Hospital.

However, the driver of the Citroen car was left shaken but uninjured.

Police Constable Catherine White of Poole Police, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact Dorset Police urgently.”

She added: “I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision to call me on 101. All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”
