POLICE say a body found in the water at Poole Quay on Friday is a man.
Officers were called to the quayside around 2.45pm on Friday following the discovery.
The area was cordoned off near Tesco Express.
Yesterday, a spokesperson for Dorset Police said the body was a man.
The coroner has been informed.
Next of kin were still in the process of being identified, they added.
Residents at Poole Quay said there was a multi-agency response from the emergency services, including police, fire and ambulance.
The coastguard were also in attendance supporting police along with Poole RNLI.
