Looking for Halloween events to do with the kids? A host of firework displays, walks and pumpkin parades are taking place. Here's our guide to what's on.

On Saturday October 29, there will be a Zombie Walk as part of #NewMiltonInfestation. There will be an afternoon of activities from midday, and the walk starts at 4pm from Forest Arts on Old Milton Road. The afternoon activities cost £5 per person, the walk is free. For more details and to reserve a place contact 01425 612 393 or go to forest-arts.co.uk.

A pumpkin parade takes place at Upton Country Park on Sunday. Little ones are invited to take along their best carved pumpkins in time for judging at 12.30pm. There will also be crafts, a bouncy castle and fancy dress competition with prizes given away to the best outifts. You can even learn the Thriller dance routine and display your Halloween drawings in the children's art gallery. All activities take place in the Walled Garden and entry costs £2.50.

The Macmillan Halloween Sunday Funday takes place at Avon Social Club on Sunday, October 30. There will be a bouncy castle, face painting, DJ, a BBQ, raffles, a tombola, a bar, stalls, fancy dress competition and more. The event is to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. 

A series of spooktacular events will take place at the Lambs Green Inn in Wimborne this half-term in aid of the NSPCC. The pub, part of the Vintage Inns chain, will welcome families as part of the initiative from Saturday, October 22 through to Monday, October 31. Visitors can enjoy ghostly story-telling, face painting and games. In addition, the Wimborne pub will donate 25p from every meal ordered from the specials board to the NSPCC throughout October and November.

Halloween comes to Bournemouth Square from October 21 until October 30. There will be live music every night at 5pm, plus daytime fun for children and a Halloween trail. 

A free Halloween party for all the family takes place at The Dudsbury Country Club on October 31. Between 6pm and 6pm, there will be trick or treat, face painting, an outdoor bar and more. 

The spooky Halloween trail returns to Hengistbury Head on Saturday and Sunday and promises to be scarier than ever. Children will get a small prize if they make it to the end. Starts from the Visitor Centre and there's no need to book. Suitable for children aged five and over. Costs £2 per child. 

Lewey’s Trick or Treat Party Park takes place at Lemur Landings at Tower Park between 6-8pm on October 29. There’s everything from fun and games with a themed disco/entertainment, fancy dress contests, a picnic box for every child and an appearance from the Lemur himself Lewey. Tickets £8-10.

Families are invited to a Halloween activity day at Avon Tyrrell, UK Youth Outdoor Activity Centre, on Sunday, October 30 from 10am until 2pm.

A Hallowe'en event will take place at Highcliffe Castle on Sunday October 30. Visitors are invited to search for the pet ghost of Mr Selfridge by playing pumpkin bowling, pin the nose on the witch and other games. Sessions will be at 5pm, 5.30pm, 6pm, 6.30pm, 7pm and 7.30pm and they are suitable for 3-10 year olds.  Tickets are available by calling 01425 278807 but are limited.

A Halloween Treasure Trail is being held at Avon Heath Country Park, near Ringwood, from Saturday, October 22 to Sunday, October 30. Hunt down clues between 11am and 3pm to claim your prize, cost £3.

A Halloween Spooktacular takes place at Parley Country Club on October 29. Gates open at 5pm, with the bonfire lit at 7pm and fireworks from 8pm.  As well as the Spooky Woodland Walk, other attractions include funfair rides, a barbecue and hog roast, fancy dress parade and live music. Full details at parleycountryclub.com.
