A BELOVED family pet has been found days after he disappeared without trace.
Jack the Patterdale Terrier disappeared during a morning walk over Queens Park Golf Course last Saturday.
Despite intense searches for hours every day by his distraught owners, who put posters up around the area, no-one had seen him.
But earlier today he was discovered under a pile of logs in the ground at the course where he went missing.
The fire service was called to help rescue him, with the mission taking an hour to dig him out.
Owner Charlotte Devereux said he had an infection in his eyes and was weak but otherwise unharmed.
“To be honest he is in amazing condition considering”, she said.
“We’ve been round the golf course every day but today he was crying.
“A woman said she might have heard something on an area of the course, so I kept calling and calling and then I could hear him whimpering.
“He needs a good bath.”
Charlotte also paid thanks to the fire service and the grounds men at Queens Park as well as everyone else who helped search for Jack.
