A GROUP of students from a Poole school have received a “high commendation” for their work in an employability programme.

The pioneering Employability, Enterprise and Empowerment Programme sees more than 500 local students from schools across Dorset undertake a range of tasks to develop core life and employability skills for the future.

Mentor Sam Boshier, from Poole-based manufacturer Hamworthy Heating, delivered eight sessions in business-orientated skills to the students from St Edwards School in Oakdale, covering a range of topics from finance and budgeting to CV preparation.

Students undertook mock job interviews with global investment giant BNY Mellon as part of the scheme in which the St Edwards students received glowing feedback.

Sam said: “I have been so impressed with the enthusiasm and drive of the students from St Edwards School.”
