A Poole man has been arrested after a young girl was allegedly assaulted at Paulton's Park on Sunday.

Officers have been told that a young girl aged about three or four was assaulted by a man who was known to her at the family theme park, near Romsey in Hampshire.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was walking along a footpath from the main entrance to car park “D” at about 2pm and saw what happened.

The man is described as white, of large build, 6ft tall with dark hair and a tanned complexion. He was wearing a dark t-shirt.

A 37-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and is in custody in Dorset, having been arrested on behalf of Hampshire Police officers.
