  • The 10-day Bournemouth Food and Drink Festival has started today and continues into the weekend
  • Hundreds of people will take part in the Summer Solstice 10k & Fun Run at Moors Valley tonight between 7pm and 9pm
  • Poole raises a glass to pirate Harry Paye on Saturday with its popular fun day on the Quay
  • Waggy Tails charity hold their annual fun dog show day at West Parley Memorial Hall on Saturday
  • Wool Carnival adopts a World Cup theme for its popular event which takes place on Saturday
  • Runners will push huge prams on Saturday for the second Ferndown Pram Race
  • Shake and Stir Festival celebrates all things vintage in Southbourne with events all weekend
  • Coda Music Centre hold an open day on Saturday
  • The first-ever Cheese and Chilli Festival takes place at Chapel Gate on Saturday and Sunday
  • A Total Wipeout-style fundraiser comes to Poole on Saturday to raise funds for Poole Hospital Charity
  • Take in lovely sea views on Sunday with the Sky Ride Local Bournemouth Pier to Pier ride
  • Poole's Race For Life takes place in Poole Park on Sunday with two 5k races

This is a great article. We are lucky to live somewhere where so many events take place, I had no idea any of the stuff above were on until I read this.

I think the word "Festival" is perhaps a bit of an overstatement as to the Bournemouth Food & Drink event, about 20 stalls mainly selling take-away food at inflated prices and a large bar with some live bands!
