IF you’ve been working all week and praying the sunshine lasts into the weekend then you’re in luck.

Yesterday sun worshippers flocked to Bournemouth beach as the mercury peaked at 25.7C making it the hottest day of the year so far for the region.

The sun is set to carry on shining today, tomorrow and Sunday as scores of outdoor events take place across Dorset including Bournemouth Food and Drink Festival, Harry Paye Day and Poole's Race For Life.

Runners taking part in the Summer Solstice 10k & Fun Run at Moors Valley this evening will be blessed with dry conditions and clear spells with temperatures remaining in the high teens.

Saturday is looking fine and warm with further sunny spells across Dorset. The Met Office says there is a slight risk variable cloud could give an isolated light shower but most places will stay dry throughout with a maximum temperature of 23C.

While Sunday will be dry with sunny spells and a maximum temperature of 20C.

However things turn more unsettled on Monday and Tuesday with showers but it will still feel warm with highs of 20C.
