HEAD of AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust Steve Cuss and his assistant Dan Neville have been recognised for their impressive work with Bournemouth University’s football teams by being named Coaches of the Year.

Steve, who also manages non-league Wimborne Town in the Southern League, and Neville have coached and led Bournemouth University’s first and third teams to league titles during the 2013/14 season.

The coaches were presented with their award at Bournemouth University’s annual sports ball last week, which marks the end of the sports season and recognises the achievements of the university’s players and coaches.

As official partners of Championship side AFC Bournemouth, Bournemouth University students receive a host of benefits, including receiving professional standard coaching from Cuss.

Steve said: “It is a huge honour to receive this award, but it really is about the boys who have been exceptional this year.

“From the moment myself and Dan started coaching them, their effort and work ethic has been second to none and both teams thoroughly deserved to be crowned champions of their respective leagues.

“To have two teams win a league in the same season is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved, and we are looking forward to helping them retain the title next year.”
