BOURNEMOUTH student Beth Conway met fashion legend Jimmy Choo when she won the runner-up prize at a prestigious national competition.
The 20-year-old, who studies Footwear Design at De Montford University, was thrilled to receive her prize from Choo, one of the biggest names in the shoe industry.
She was presented with £3,000 at the Cordwainers Footwear Student of the Year Awards. Beth said: “Being selected for the Cordwainers competition was an amazing experience with great opportunities and a chance to meet with some admirable designers and other people in the footwear industry.
“The whole event was inspiring and all the winning students were overwhelmed at how many people came to support our work and encourage us as graduating students.
“I was honoured to be awarded second place and to be presented with the award by Jimmy Choo was a huge privilege.
“It was a truly great evening and one I definitely won’t forget any time soon.”
The inaugural awards saw students from leading universities for footwear courses competing for the top awards and the opportunity for high-profile exposure in the industry.
