POLICE are trying to trace a biker who was riding in a ‘dangerous and careless manner’ and failed to stop for officers on the Spur Road.

The incident occurred at approximately 7pm on Monday May 19.

Officers were on a routine patrol on the southbound carriageway of the A338 at the Blackwater junction when they attempted to stop a black Suzuki motorcycle.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said the vehicle failed to stop and made off at speed towards Bournemouth.

The spokesperson added that police continued to try and stop the vehicle until they reached the area of Richmond Hill where they stopped following it for safety reasons.

The rider is described as wearing a red fleece with black markings on the sides, and no gloves.

Police Constable Chris Vaughan, of Bournemouth police, said: “The motorbike was being ridden in a dangerous and careless manner when it failed to stop and I am appealing for any witness to this manner of riding.

“I also urge anyone who may have any information about the identity of the rider to come forward.”
