A NEW regular bus service has been launched in Ringwood.

The town’s mayor, Cllr Steve Rippon-Swaine and his wife Anne were on hand to launch Morebus’ new Ringo service.

The route will be a circular one around Ringwood, including stops at Meeting House Lane, Furlong Shopping Centre and the White Hart pub in Poulner.

Operating from Monday to Saturday, it will run every 30 minutes, starting at 9am, and will cost £3.80 for a day rider ticket - allowing unlimited travel all day.

Passengers will also have the option of purchasing a single, return, weekly or monthly ticket.

Morebus MD, Andrew Wickham, said: “This is an exciting launch for us. We know there is great demand for buses on this route - and we are pleased to be providing our customers in Ringwood with this much needed service.

“We delighted to be getting started. It's perfect for tired shoppers, or for people travelling on a day out - and will also save the hassle of parking.

“It’s a great opportunity to encourage people in the area to leave their cars at home and take the bus instead.”
