A MANHUNT is underway after a 24-year-old woman was stabbed at a holiday park in St Leonards.

Police were called to Oakdene Forest Park at 8.05pm yesterday evening after a woman suffered a stab wound to her body.

A spokesman from Dorset Police said officers are attempting to locate the attacker, who is believed to be known to the victim.

The force spokesman said: “At 8.05pm on Wednesday May 21, Dorset police was alerted by the ambulance service to an incident at Oakdene Forest Park in St Leonards.

“A 24-year-old woman from Wales received a non-life-threatening stab wound to her body and was taken to Poole Hospital.

“Officers at the scene investigating and are making enquiries to locate the offender, who is believed to be known to the victim.”

Wayne Birch, manager at Oakdene Forest Park, described the attack as an “isolated” and “very unusual” incident.

He added: “I have been here for 16 years and I have never experienced anything like it.

“It’s a very safe park.”
