THIS year’s popular Hurst Castle Midnight Ramble will now take place on Friday, July 4, after bad weather forced organisers to reschedule.
The late night walk in aid of Oakhaven Hospice, sponsored by Hoburne Holiday Parks, was originally planned for Friday, May 9 but was called off following coastguard warnings of gale force winds.
Events co-ordinator at Oakhaven Gemma Sinden said: “It was a real shame to have to cancel as so many people had signed up. But we are very much looking forward to running the event on July 4 and hopefully even more people will be there then. This is such a unique event; walking along the spit to the castle all lit up is magical and it’s becoming a date people don’t want to miss.”
The walk begins at 10.45pm from The Marine Café in Milford on Sea.
