A BROADSTONE optician has seen off its rivals, scooping two major national awards.

Tempany’s Boutique Opticians and Contact Lens Specialists won Fashion Practice of the Year and director Keith Tempany the Contact Lens Practitioner of the Year award for the second time.

The practice beat stiff opposition at the Opticians Awards ceremony held at the Hilton Park Lane.

Keith said: “When we first opened Tempany’s, people were asking ‘Why does Broadstone need another opticians?’ but once they experience Tempany’s for themselves they realise that we are not just another opticians and not just for Broadstone. In fact we are unique to this part of the south coast.

“We are actually redefining people’s optical experience by using award-winning, high quality eyewear in a contem-porary environment but under-pinning it with the very latest technology eye care and customer focus,” he said.

Frame designs are handpicked from fashion shows in Paris and Milan and most are exclusive to this area.

Tempany’s is one of a few practices that are fully private and the only practice locally to include the latest 3D OCT scanning with every eye examination.

Keith started his contact lens practice 11 years ago, has lectured around the country and runs workshops for fellow eye care practitioners.

He had previously won the contact lens award in 2010.

“We offer contact lenses to everyone who we feel will benefit by them, consequently we have a very wide range of patients trying lenses for the first time, from six to 70 years old, literally.”
