A CIVIC day hosted by the chairman of East Dorset District Council highlighted the best of the area’s tourist attractions.
Councillor Malcolm Birr held the event last week for mayors and chairs of other local authorities in order to promote East Dorset.
James Hassett, East Dorset District Council’s head of growth and economy, gave a talk on the value of private and public cooperation within the local business sector.
Julian Winfield, chief executive of Haskins Garden Centre, gave a presentation which included details of community involvement by Haskins.
A visit to Kingston Lacy House and Gardens concluded the day’s events.
Cllr Birr said: “We planned the day to support of local businesses and one of East Dorset’s major tourist attractions. We were fortunate enough to have excellent weather and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all present.”
