A CYCLIST was involved in a collision on a busy Christchurch road this evening.
It is thought the rider was involved in a crash with a car on Barrack Road.
The road was closed both ways at The Grove earlier this evening, and traffic had been queueing in both directions around that junction.
Dorset Police, the fire and rescue service and ambulance crews were all at the scene of the crash, which took place at around 5.56pm.
A spokesperson from the police said: "We were called by ambulance services.
"A pushbike and a car are involved. The cyclist is under the car."
Two fire engines are believed to have helped to free the cyclist.
Dorset Police later said that the cyclist's injuries were minor and they were checked over at hospital.
