A POST-mortem into the death of a student who fell from university accommodation is due to take place today.

The 20-year-old man, who attends Bournemouth University, was killed in the early hours of Friday morning after plunging 10 storeys.

Emergency services including police, fire and ambulance were called to Lyme Regis House in Holdenhurst Road shortly after midnight.

Once at the scene, officers located the young man on a flat roof, but despite the attempts of all involved, he was unable to be resuscitated.

His next of kin have been informed.

Once the post-mortem is complete, an inquest is expected to open and be adjourned on either tomorrow or Thursday morning.

Students affected by the death have been given the opportunity to access pastoral support at the university.
