A HORSE died in an incident which closed the busy A350 near Lytchett Matravers.

Police were called after reports that two horses were loose on the A35 near Old Market Road just after 12.30pm.

They reported the A350 blocked at 12.58pm.

Traffic was diverted and Morebus tweeted that its X8 service was going via Limberlost, Corfe Mullen and the Roundhouse.

Police reported the road re-opened at 2.19pm. They said one horse had died at the scene.

The Poole and Dorset Herald reported this accident in 1914.

I was in the Post office just this week and heard a young lady enquiring about renewing her "ROAD FUND LICENCE".
I nearly fell over backwards.
My tongue still hurts from biting it.
