A MAN who glassed a 17-year-old youth who confronted him after he groped the teenager's 16-year-old friend has been given a suspended jail sentence.

Craig Anthony Trott, 30, was at Salisbury Pleasure Fair in October 2012 and had been drinking when he grabbed the girl.

The girl’s friends confronted him and Trott went into Pizza Hut in Blue Boar Row and picked up a glass before going back into the street and hitting one of the boys in the head several times with the glass, leaving him permanently scarred.

Trott, of Shirley Road, Bournemouth, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault and was sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court on Monday.

Judge John Dixon said: “You really are old enough not to have got yourself involved.”

He sentenced him to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, ordered him to undergo supervision for 18 months at a thinking skills programme and to complete 125 hours of unpaid work. He will pay a £100 victim surcharge.

If adults are not getting adaquately punished by the Legal System then kids seeing this will think that they can do what they want and won't be too severely punished!

Yet more lowlife on the streets, justice no such thing, punishment is greater for a minor traffic offence, what a joke.

In my view this should've been a jail sentence, after the initial.confrontatio
n the guy went off, found a weapon and made his attack, that's suggests a certain amount of pre-meditation in my book, I think he got off lightly.

so becaue there is no inflammatory video of the attack and (apparently) no racial element, this woeful sentence will go unchallenged.
