A RUNNER-UP in the Daily Echo’s Find the Ball contest is to give up part of his winnings to help the children of Syria.

Terry Milton, of Bournemouth, was moved by the plight of the four million children displaced by civil war in the Middle Eastern country.

He intends to give £300 of the £3,000 he won as a runner-up prize to the Children of Syria appeal.

“Three years ago they were happy, going to school every day,” he said.

Terry, who is ‘70-ish’ is a former PE teacher, school principal, author, entertainer and property renovator.

He speaks regularly on behalf of Dorset Humanists and has a website at terrymilton.co.uk.

He is a regular reader of the Echo but struck it lucky in his first attempt for years at the Find the Ball contest.
