MILLIONS of pounds worth of Sunseeker yachts were loaded on to a huge merchant vessel moored at Poole Quay at the weekend.

The special transporter ship, set to sail to various destinations in the Mediterranean, was loaded with at least seven prestigious yachts ready for its voyage.

The ship, named the Eendracht, sailed into Poole Harbour at around 12noon on Friday, after travelling from Rotterdam in the Netherlands, to pick up its precious cargo.

The boats to be collected included a Sunseeker 115 Predator as well as two 28-metre yachts.

The vessels were loaded onto the carrier over the weekend, before they are delivered to several destinations in the Mediterranean.

Mark Garside, Sunseeker’s Transport and Export Manager, said: “I have worked here for 15 years and this is only the second time that I have seen one of these vessels come into Poole Quay to collect the yachts.

“Usually, they would be picked up from Southampton, but on this occasion it has come to Poole.

“It was nice to see the ship come in to pick up the yachts but it is also nice to see our work go off to their new owners.”

The biggest yacht ever to be built by Sunseeker is due to leave Poole Harbour soon, in order to be united with its owner, Formula One mogul Eddie Jordan.

The tri-deck 155 Yacht is thought to be worth £32million and has been undergoing trials on the sea.
