AN 11-year-old from Creek-moor will be singing her heart out tomorrow with the hope of winning a place in a national competition.

Charley Theobald is set to belt out her own rendition of Pink’s Get The Party Started for the regional finals of TeenStar.

The contest aims to find the best young singers, rappers and vocalists in the UK, with one young person being crowned Teenstar 2014, and winning a prize which includes £5,000 in cash, and branding and marketing advice.

She will take part in the pre-teens category after wowing judges in an audition on February 18, at Ferneham Hall in Fareham, where she will return on Sunday.

Proud mum Beckie says that her daughter has been passionate about singing since she saw The Lion King in the West End, aged eight.

She said: “She really loved the show and then she entered a singing competition at Upton Juniors and was runner-up.

“Charley then started singing lessons with a teacher and it has just gone on from there.

“She got through to the regional finals after auditioning last month, and the judges initially said that they liked her, but she was a bit nervous the first time, so they asked her to perform again.

“Charley has always said that she’d like to be a pop star one day, and she sings from the moment she gets up in the morning, until she falls asleep at night. She also has a very good memory for picking up song lyrics the first time she hears them.

“With her singing, I support her, but I don’t push her, so I am just a very proud mummy.”
