A NEW exhibition featuring art inspired by the history of Poole has been unveiled at the town’s museum.
The collection includes works inspired by the exhibits at Poole Museum from 67 artists who entered the competition Open Poole 2014. The mayor of Poole, Cllr Phillip Eades, who officially opened the exhibition yesterday, said: “It is great that so many artists put forward work for this exhibition and I’m thrilled to have been asked to open it.
“I would encourage as many people as possible to visit the museum to see the wonderful displays for themselves. “ Cllr Xena Dion, portfolio holder for prosperous and sustainable Poole, Borough of Poole, added: “It is fantastic how artists continue to be inspired by Poole.
“This new exhibition at Poole Museum brings a new interpretation on the town’s rich and varied history, as well as the opportunity to discover exciting new artists.”
Entry to the museum and exhibition, which runs until May 5, is free.
