NEW ‘super huts’ due to be built along the seafront in Alum Chine have gone on sale.
The 18 planned extra large beach huts are being offered for sale by Bournemouth Council for £39,950 on a first-come-first-served basis, and building work is expected to begin at the end of the month.
When complete they will be identical to huts already in place on the promenade opposite Vesuvio restaurant. They are part of the council’s £90 million overhaul of the seafront.
Councillor Lawrence Williams, portfolio holder for tourism, leisure and culture, said demand for beach huts in the area was very high.
“There is a 10-year waiting list for both private sites and annual lets in this area, but there is no queue for a super hut, so they are perfect for those who are eager to own a stunning seafront base without the wait,” he said.
