MCDONALD’S has added its name to the list of companies that will be recruiting at the upcoming Daily Echo Jobsfair.

The twice-yearly event has proved immensely popular with those looking for work, a change of career or just to brush up on their skills, attracting around 1,300 on its March and October dates.

The next Jobsfair will be held at the Premier Inn, Westover Road, Bournemouth, on Thursday, March 6, from 10.30am to 5pm.

McDonald’s, which has a new store in Ringwood, is the latest name to join those who will be there.

Also new this time around are the Chewton Glen Hotel, Lloyds Bank, Tempest Cosgrave, Appleberry Care, Tops Day Nurseries, Synergy Housing, Nationwide Building Society, the National Fostering Agency, Yellow Buses and Just Teachers.

Joining around 35 employers will be training workshops on CV and interview preparation from Best Training.

The event is again being sponsored by Bournemouth based Health-on-Line, a private healthcare company backed by insurance giant AXA.

Angela Boyer, classified manager at the Daily Echo, said: “The Daily Echo Jobs Fair is now an established event in the calendar for recruiters and job seekers alike.

“Entry is free and the fair is a unique opportunity to meet prospective employers face to face, to discuss their vacancies and the skills and experience you can offer.

“On average, 35 recruiters and training providers attend on the day, welcoming on average 1,300 job seekers.

“The fair is always a very positive occasion and throughout the day there are always stories of interviews arranged, confidence restored, high volumes of suitable candidates and even visitors working the next day.

“There will not be another fair for six months – therefore don’t hesitate – ensure that March 6 is the day that you start on the path to a new job or new career.”

Entry is free and jobseekers are advised to go along dressed smartly – as if they were attending an interview – and armed with a positive outlook and plenty of copies of their CV.

The training workshops are free, but it is recommended that those interested book a place. Email jayne.edmunds@bournemouthecho.co.uk by Monday, March 3.
