THERE will be lane closures around the Civic Centre junction in Poole for up to four weeks due to gas works.
A single lane closure was put in place yesterday from Parkstone Road to the clock tower and also to the bottom of Fernside Road, while workmen from Southern Gas Networks (SGN) carry out pipe replacements.
Borough of Poole took to their Facebook page to warm motorists that the lane will remain closed until the roadworks are completed, which involves changing old gas mains with new durable plastic pipes. The aim, the Facebook post says, is to ensure the safe and reliable supply of gas into the future. Poole council have added that they have worked with Southern Gas Networks to keep the lane closures to a minimum and hoped that this would lead to minimal disruption to motorists’ journeys.
Anyone with questions about the work is asked to contact SGN on 0845 070 1431 or email mains@sgn.co.uk
