A MAN was rescued from his car by firefighters after a crash near Sherborne on Sunday morning.

Crews from Sherborne were called around 6.30am on Sunday to the collision on the B3148 between Sherborne and Marston Magna.

After stabilising the vehicle, firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free a male from the car who was trapped by his legs.

It took until just after 7.30am to free the casualty, who was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
