TWO people were taken to hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Corfe Mullen yesterday evening.
The collision, between a white Ford Ranger pick-up truck, registered to a company from Poole, and a blue Rover Club, registered to a man from Poole, occurred at around 7pm, along the A350 Old Wareham Road, at Beacon Hill.
Dorset Police attended the scene and closed a section of the A350 Blandford Road North.
Fire fighters from Poole and Swanage Fire Stations attended the scene and found one person trapped in each vehicle on arrival.
A third crew was then requested from Poole and fire fighters worked to removed the roofs of both vehicles, to allow the casualties to be placed on spinal boards by the South Western Ambulance Service.
Injuries sustained by a male removed from the Ford Ranger are believed to have been serious but not life-threatening and consisted of a fractured sternum.
Ambulance crews also attended to one person removed from the Rover Club and their injuries are also believed to be serious but not life-threatening and involving a fractured wrist and hip.
Both casualties were taken to Poole Hospital by the ambulance crews and the road was cleared by 22.39pm.
