A NEW Bournemouth restaurant has been the target of thieves just weeks after it opened.

Scene Asia started trading in Old Christchurch Road last month and, just two weeks after it started serving, a burglar broke in.

Aktar Miah, director, said that the break-in happened at around 8.15am on January 12.

He added: “Somebody came through the back window. They took some of the till money.

“I had a call at 11am from the team when they came in to work to say the till and computer were on the floor.

“CJ, the general manager, came around and phoned the police and they came to investigate. It’s been caught on CCTV from two different cameras.

“There was £120 float in the till, which has been taken, and some spirits and liqueurs have been taken.

“It’s one of those things and we’re focusing on our business. We’ve been a lot more aware after this happened.

“Other businesses need to be more aware and especially those like us who are opening up.

“We got noticed by lots of people, which has been fantastic, but you don’t want to be noticed by the wrong person.”

Dorset Police are investigating the incident.
