THE Sandbanks Ferry is operating as normal this morning, however that could change later today.
Ferry bosses may have to suspend services if the large tidal surge, currently being experienced at the entrance of Poole Harbour, coincides with high winds.
A ferry spokesman told the Daily Echo: “At the moment there is a big tidal surge coming up the channel and sea levels are higher than predicted.
“There’s no indication we will have to stop running but that may change depending on the tidal surge and if there are any wind changes.
“We haven’t had the winds yet that were predicted today. If these winds do not coincide with high tide we might be lucky.”
