JODY and Paul Dutton are certain to have a happy New Year thanks to the safe arrival of their baby daughter on the first day of 2014.

Little Tristyn-Marie Ann Dutton weighed in at a healthy 7lbs 9oz after her mum’s labour of nearly 24 hours.

Jody, 28, of Charminster Road, Bournemouth, first went into labour on New Year’s Eve at 7.30am, eventually going to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital maternity unit at 8pm.

She was later transferred to Poole due to complications and Tristyn-Marie was born there at 3.43am.

The little girl is a first child for Jody, a bar associate at Wetherspoon’s, and her 28-year-old husband Paul, a team leader at data solutions company WDS.

The couple looked thrilled with the new arrival when visited by the Daily Echo and were looking forward to visits from family members.

“I think I’m going to be in hospital for about 24 hours” said Jody.

“It’s amazing because Tristyn-Marie turned up on her due date which is quite unusual.

“We weren’t expecting her to be born in Poole because I was meant to be low-risk so it should have been fine for me to have her at Bournemouth.

“She’s been really good and I can’t wait for all our family to meet her.”
