A MAN'S jaw was broken in a fight at Hamptons Lounge Bar in Bournemouth on Saturday night.

Police in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after the man was seriously assaulted in the town centre.

The incident, in which a 26-year-old man was struck to the face by another man, happened in Hamptons Lounge Bar on Terrace Road, Westcliff, at around 1.50am on Saturday 21 December 2013.

The victim, from Verwood, sustained a broken jaw as a result of the attack.

Police Constable Jess Fredriksen, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was a nasty attack that left the victim requiring surgery and it’s important that the man responsible is brought to justice.”

No description of the offender is available.

PC Fredrikson continued: “Hamptons Bar will have been busy at this time on a Saturday morning and I believe that a number of people may have witnessed this assault. Anyone with any information should get in touch with Dorset Police as soon as possible.”

No arrests have been made.
