Bournemouth Echo: Boscombe Winter Solstice parade cancelled due to bad weather Boscombe Winter Solstice parade cancelled due to bad weather

A WINTER Solstice lantern parade planned for Boscombe this evening has been cancelled because of the weather.

It was due to take place from the Royal Arcade, travelling along Sea Road and finishing with street entertainment, a live band and fireworks at Boscombe Pier and Urban Beach at 6pm.

A huge wicker Lady of the Sea and an illuminated sea turtle constructed by local artists was due to lead the parade of performers, children and residents who will be decked out in fancy dress.

But organisers have made the decision this afternoon to cancel the parade thanks to the wind and rain that has hit the county today.
