New £8m luxury care home, which boasts a hairdressers and cinema, opens in Poole
A NEW £8million luxury care home has opened in Poole.
The Potteries care home, York Road, Broadstone, was officially opened last week.
Poole Mayor Cllr Phil Eades, the home’s very first resident Eileen Williams and her family attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Care home bosses say the project will create around 80 jobs in a variety of specialist care positions.
The home, which has more than 80 bedrooms over three floors, also boasts its own coffee shop, hairdressers and cinema.
The Potteries manager Donna Milne said: “Our approach focuses on respect and the individual needs of the people we care for.
“We always put residents’ needs first and will make them feel a valued member of our community here.
“For me, being a care home manager is about providing the best quality of care and choice I would expect for my own family.”
The Potteries will be operated by Care UK, a leading independent health and social care service provider which manages more than 100 care homes and day centres across the UK.
Specialist residential, dementia and nursing care will be offered at The Potteries.
Donna explained: “Our carers will get to know every resident – their likes, dislikes, life stories – and then create a personalised care plan that will enable residents to maximise their independence and enjoy activities based on their personal hobbies and interests, or even to try something new.
“We want to provide a happy home for residents, where they feel comfortable and are assured of an excellent standard of living.”
