It's the first day of Bournemouth Marathon Festival - junior, 10k and 5k races taking place
This live event has finished
- First Bournemouth Marathon Festival gets underway today.
- 9,000 people are expected to take part in events over the weekend with many more expected to turn-out and cheer
- Races today include the junior 1.5k and 3k, the Supersonic 10k and Speed of Light 5k
- The world's oldest marathoner 102-year-old Faruja Singh will launch the festival on Saturday
- More than 100 roads will be closed over the weekend as well as the Bakers Arms roundabout

The highlight of the race though will be the local musicians lining the route for the runners.

The Supersonic 10k, which starts at 4pm, is supposed to be a "flat and fast course".
It will begin just behind Bournemouth Pier and head towards Boscombe before turning round and running up and down Bournemouth Pier before heading west towards Poole.
Runners will then turn at Branksome Chine before finishing at Pier Approach in front of the Lower Gardens.
There's a bit of time now before the 10k race at 4pm. All the youngsters are chilling out now after the race

There is an accident on one of the Bakers Arms diversion routes on the A31 between the A350 junction and Bere Regis. It is causing some delays as the road is partially blocked. We'll update you as soon as we've got some more information.
