Developer outlines plans for flats above Boscombe's Royal Arcade

A DEVELOPER who plans to refurbish flats above Boscombe’s Royal Arcade has put in a planning application outlining his intentions.
The arcade, a Grade-II listed building built in 1892, has around 35 shopkeepers’ flats above its stores, some of which were converted to offices but all of which have been unused for at least 15 years.
Graham Warren, the third developer to take on the building in 12 months, has applied for change of use from office to residential, alongside creation of an external gantry and access stairs, internal alterations to staircases and partitions, and for bin and cycle storage.
Speaking to the Daily Echo earlier this month Mr Warren said he hoped work on the flats, which will be marketed to owner-occupiers, would be under way as soon as permission was granted.
