Bournemouth's top venues celebrated at Best Bar None awards
THE top venues in Bournemouth’s night time economy were celebrated at the 2013 Best Bar None awards.
The overall winner, Best Bar None, was Yates’ in Bournemouth, with the prize presented by the Mayor, Cllr Rod Cooper.
This was the sixth year of the awards and for the first time, every venue that entered was accredited.
Best Bar None is a national accreditation scheme for licensed premises.
Other category winners were:
Pub: Yates (runner up Brass House)
Club: Old Fire Station (Cameo)
Entertainment venue: O2 (For Your Eyes Only)
Neighbourhood Venue: Grove Tavern (Chaplins)
Bar: Bar Me (Revolution)
The Daily Echo Editor’s Award went to Revolution.
Bournemouth Council’s Principal Licensing Officer, Steve Wright, said: “These are challenging times for all sorts of reasons but you have gone from strength to strength. You have maintained really high standards”
Cllr Cooper thanked all the venues for their efforts in helping make Bournemouth a successful, dynamic town.
“Keep up the good work,” he added.
