A MAN who was wanted was caught in a Bournemouth town centre car park.

Police were alerted to a “disturbance” in Gervis Place at about 9.30am on Wednesday, May 8.

A man was found in the road and issued with a section 35 dispersal notice, meaning he is not allowed to come back to the area within a timeframe or he will be arrested.

Meanwhile, the other group involved in the disturbance – three men – were found in Winter Gardens car park.

One of the men was arrested as he was wanted for failing to appear at court

A spokesman for Bournemouth police said: “Bournemouth south police are working hard to improve the town centre.

“If you observe similar behaviours, this classes as a ‘crime in progress’ and justifies a 999 call. Police numbers have increased and there are more officers in Bournemouth town centre.

“A big thank you to the member of the public that called this incident in on 999 this morning. The local community are key to letting us know where we are needed.”
