ANDONI Iraola said discussions regarding a new contract at Cherries were “quite fast and quite easy”.
Iraola this week penned an extension to stay with the club for an extra year, his deal now running until the summer of 2026.
It comes after an impressive first campaign under the Spaniard, in which Cherries achieved a club-record Premier League points tally.

Asked how the new contract came about, Iraola explained: “I think it was quite fast and quite easy.
“We started talking and with managers I don’t feel it’s so important, a contract, as (it is) with players.
“In the end, managers have to perform well, you have to keep winning games.
“Otherwise you are going to be in trouble, it doesn’t matter the contract you have.
“I think it is more a matter of renewing the confidence.
“It has been our first season together.
“I happy that everyone is in a good place and we can continue working together.”
Asked what he did to celebrate the news, Iraola added: “Nothing special.
“I am happy, obviously, because it means a proof of confidence, but I didn’t do anything special.”
Cherries finish their season away at Chelsea on Sunday (4pm).
